A REUNION of skaters from the much-missed Southampton Ice Rink has given a Hampshire charity a welcome boost.
Organisers of the Outreach Radio hosted Ultimate Southampton Ice Rink Reunion at The Empire Hall in Totton have presented a cheque for £558 to Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance Service fundraisers.
With friends reuniting and sharing memories, it was a night of great music from across the years, with fun banter from former ice rink DJs Mike Joyce and Bob Heather.
Guests travelled from as far afield as Birmingham, Liverpool and even Gibraltar to enjoy the event, which included a raffle and auction with prizes donated by Southampton Football Club and The National Motor Museum at Beaulieu.
It costs £15,000 a day to maintain HIOWAA’s life saving service.
