A MOTORCYCLIST has been left needing surgery on his hand following a crash with a runaway van driver in a Hampshire village.
Police were called to Corhampton Lane between the B3035 and Stakes Lane after a white tipper style van and a grey Daytona motorbike collided at some point between 9.10am and 9.25am on Friday, July 1.
The van left the scene without stopping.
The motorbike rider, a 44-year-old man, suffered a serious hand injury which will require surgery.
Officers are now appealing for anyone with any information about this incident to come forward.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said: "Were you in the area at the time of the incident? Did you see the van, or do you have a dashcam in your vehicle?
"If you have any information or think you might know the driver of the van, please contact police.
"Anyone with information should call Hampshire Constabulary on 101 quoting 44220261800."
