WINCHESTER'S motorists will have 18 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.
And seven of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that 10 closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:
• M27, from 9pm November 26 2020 to 6am June 28 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 eastbound, junction 9, slip road closures for M27 Smart Motorways, diversion via Highways England network.
• M3, from 9pm November 17 2020 to 6am July 1 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 northbound, junction 12, slip road closures for M3 Smart Motorways, diversion via National Highways network.
• M27, from 8pm February 28 to 6am July 2, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M27 eastbound, junction 8 to junction 9, carriageway closure for M27 Smart Motorways, diversion via local authority network.
• M3, from 9pm November 12 2020 to 6am July 5 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 southbound, junction 12, slip road closures for M3 concrete barrier scheme, diversion via National Highways network.
• M27, from 8pm January 16 to 6am July 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M27 westbound, junction 9 to junction 8, carriageway closure for M27 Smart Motorways, diversion via local authority network.
• M27, from 9pm October 6 2020 to 6am August 13 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 eastbound, junction 9, slip road closure for M27 Smart Motorways, diversion via Highways England network.
• M27, from 9pm October 19 2020 to 6am August 13 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 westbound, junction 9, slip road and lane closures for M27 Smart Motorways, diversion via Highways England network.
• M27, from 8pm April 4 to 6am August 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 eastbound and westbound, junction 7 to junction 9, Lane closures for M27 Smart Motorways.
• M27, from 6am November 8 2021 to 6am May 19 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M3 northbound and southbound, junction 9 to 14, Narrow lanes and 50mph for Concrete barrier scheme.
• M27, from 8pm November 8 2021 to 6am October 12 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M3 northbound and southbound, junction 9 to 14, Lane closures for M3 concrete barrier scheme.
And a further eight closures will begin over the next seven days:
• A303, from 8pm June 28 to 6am June 29, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A34 southbound, Bullington to M3, junction 9, carriageway closure for resurfacing, diversion via National Highways network.
• A303, from 8pm June 30 to 6am July 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A303 eastbound and westbound, Picket Twenty, slip road closures for Hampshire County Council works, diversion via National highways and local authority networks.
• A34, from 8pm July 4 to 6am July 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3, junction 9 Roundabout, diversion route for Hampshire County Council works.
• A303, from 8pm July 5 to 6am July 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 eastbound and westbound, Micheldever to Bullington, Lane closures for barrier works.
• A303, from 8pm July 7 to 6am July 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 eastbound and westbound, Overton to Barton Stacey, Lane closures for barrier works.
• M3, from 8pm July 11 to 6am July 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 southbound, junction 11 to 12, carriageway closure for M3 concrete barrier scheme, diversion via local authority network.
• A27, from 8pm July 11 to 6am July 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A3 northbound and southbound, Berelands to A3M, junction 2, carriageway and lane closures for drainage work, diversion via National Highways and local authority network.
• A34, from 8pm July 11 to 6am July 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 northbound and southbound, Kingsworthy to Three Maids Hill, Lane closure for barrier works.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
