A WINCHESTER shopping centre is set to welcome a furry VIP this summer.

Families are invited to visit The Entertainer in The Brooks Centre for the 'exclusive' chance to meet Gilda the Flamingo from the TY Beanie Boo family.

On Saturday, June 18, fans of the cuddly collection have the opportunity to say hello to Gilda in-store and capture a fun photo with their family and friends.

Gilda will be at the store for one day only before she continues her adventures, and visitors can arrive any time between 10am and 4pm.

Ashleigh Douglas, store manager of The Brooks Shopping Centre, said: “We’re so excited to welcome the fabulous Gilda the Flamingo to our store this summer.

"We know that children of all ages love the Beanie Boo family, so we’re sure the meet and greet will be incredibly popular. It’s a great chance for families to say hello to Gilda, capture a photo and have some fun in store. We look forward to welcoming our VIP visitor and hope families can join us on the day!”

Gilda will be available for free-of-charge meet and greets on a first come, first served basis.
