A DERELICT house in the centre of Winchester is expected to attract strong interest from bidders as it goes up for auction next month.

The three-storey town house has been empty for years and it is now being auctioned with a guide price of £350,000-plus.

The end-terrace freehold property at 16 Tower Street is among 121 lots listed across southern England by Clive Emson Auctioneers in the firm’s June auction.

Rob Marchant, Hampshire auctioneer, said: “We anticipate keen interest, given the location and potential. Furthermore, there is conditional planning permission for conversion into flats – one with one bedroom and the other with two.

“In need of refurbishment throughout, the property has lain unused for some considerable time. Once completed, the property is considered ideal for resale or as a rental, perhaps as student accommodation.”

According to the particulars, the lower ground floor comprises a kitchen and reception room, with access to the rear courtyard.

On the first floor is the hallway, two reception rooms and a bathroom, whilst the second floor has two rooms.

Clive Emson’s auction timers end on Thursday, June 16, with the online bidding live two days beforehand.
