A BUS passenger has been injured in a racially aggravated assault in Winchester.
The incident took place between 9.45am and 10.15am on Tuesday May 17, and started on the No 4 Stagecoach bus which was heading from Milland Road to St George’s Street.
A 48-year-old female passenger was approached on the bus by a woman she did not know. The woman shouted at the victim and assaulted her.
The victim then left the bus and was further assaulted by the woman in High Street, near Middle Brook Street. The victim sustained a minor injury to her nose and did not need hospital treatment.
Police have released an image of a woman they want to speak to in connection with the incident.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said: "We have released an image of a woman we would like to speak to as part of our enquiries into this incident.
"We know the image only shows the back of the woman, but perhaps you recognise the clothing or bag she is wearing.
"We would also like to hear from anyone who was on the No 4 bus at around this time, or anyone who witnessed any part of this incident.
