I READ with interest the letter from a Winnall resident regarding parking in Winnall (Chronicle, Letters, May 12).

As a resident in a block of flats overlooking central car park we are obliged to have a parking permit which only covers us from Mondays to Saturdays and since parking charges were introduced we now find that if we move our vehicles on a Sunday we have to pay to park as the permit places are taken up with drivers who do not want to pay.

When I first queried this I was told that as parking was free Sundays is why permits do not cover Sundays, well parking is no longer free and I have requested our permits be extended to cover Sundays but the council do not seem interested.

Permit charges have also increased considerably over the last three years from £22+ in 2018/19 to £50 this year and although it's still cheap what else has risen by over 100 per cent?
