FIVE vehicles were involved in a collision on the M3 which led to the motorway being closed. 

All lanes of M3 were temporarily closed after the traffic collision, which took place at 1.20pm. 

The incident happened on the M3 westbound between J9 Winchester (N)/Andover and J10 Winchester. 

A Tweet from Hampshire traffic service Romanse said: "#M3 Southbound - All lanes currently being HELD at J10/#A31 #Winchester due to RTI, delays on approach." 

The lanes have now been cleared. 

Delays remain from Junction 9/A34 Winnall.

A police spokesman said: "We were called at 1.21pm to a report of a collision involving five vehicles in lane two on the M3 just after junction 9 southbound. No injuries have been reported."
