A FAMILY festival that helps raise money for equipment in Hampshire hospitals is returning this summer.
Good Festival, formerly Hampshire Country & Garden Festival, will take place in the gardens of Bere Mill on the River Test in Whitchurch on June 25 and 26.
The festival is an annual event organised by The Hampshire Medical Fund, the charity that buys medical equipment for Basingstoke, Andover and Winchester NHS hospitals that is not covered by NHS budgets.
Last year the festival raised £72,000, enabling the purchase and installation of eight Resuscitaire machines across the maternity and neo-natal departments in each hospital. These machines allow newborn babies to get immediate support with their breathing, temperature, oxygen levels and other life-saving interventions.

This year, the Hampshire Medical Fund is aiming to raise £200,000 to purchase a state of the art AI (artificial intelligence) machine for interventional radiology. This machine allows minimally invasive, image guided procedures to target tumour ablation treatments in the abdominal regions (lungs, kidneys & liver). With only two of these machines in the entire UK, this machine would be cutting edge technology in cancer treatment for The Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This year, the festival kicks off with a Saturday evening supper and auction and continues into Sunday with an all-day family festival. This family friendly event celebrates good living – with food, attractions, stalls, displays, talks and a dog show.
Tickets to the festival can be bought at goodfestival.co.uk/buy-tickets.
