The Mayor of Winchester is raising funds for three different charities via her Bollywood themed charity night.
Cllr Vivian Achwal, the Mayor of Winchester, is holding her last mayoral charity event on Saturday April 23 to help raise funds for; Winchester Youth Counselling, Friends of the Family and The Eight Foundation.
It will be hosted at The Barn, Norton Park Hotel, Sutton Scotney.
The cost of tickets are £65 per head. Those attending the event will enjoy a drink upon arrival, a three course themed meal with complimentary wine and be entertained by a number of local Indian classical and Bollywood dancers.
The aim of the event is to raise money for charities such as The Eight Foundation, which have been wildly successful since they were founded in 2017. Their organisation has led to substantial donations for a wide range of community initiatives such as incubators to support newborn children in hospitals, helping meet the needs of the homeless and providing access to sport for those with disabilities.

Cllr Vivian Achwal said: “These charities were picked because, firstly, they're local and all the money raised is going to give back to this community. The three I’ve picked have done so much for those in Winchester and this charity event will only further their good work.”
The Bollywood theme was picked due to familial ties to the Asian community. Cllr Vivian Achwal said: “My husband is Asian and I wanted to explore the possibility of a multicultural charity event. I think it’s a unique idea as I haven’t seen it done before and I’ve got Bollywood music planned, a small Indian dance group and possibly a DJ.”
Tickets can be brought by emailing: Vachwal@winchester.gov.uk.
