The headteachers at Cupernham Infants and Juniors were overwhelmed by the support from both the children and parents on their “Support 4 Ukraine” money raising event day recently.
The children dressed in yellow and blue for the special day dressing the trees in ribbons and balloons. All the proceeds will go towards the Red Cross DEC (Disaster Emergency Committee) who arrange food, water, shelter, healthcare and protection, working with the specialist charities on the ground in those areas needed.

Headteacher of the infant school, Duncan Wells said: “The whole school community has come together and I have been very touched by the children’s thoughts and comments.”
Between the two schools, £1041 was raised and Hilliers Arboretum in Romsey donated over 260 sunflower seeds for the children to take home and plant in memory of the occasion.
Simon Mitchell-Innes, headteacher of the junior school, said: “How overwhelming it was to see the children being so passionate about helping others.”
