A new company called Morpheus came to talk to Year 9 pupils about their work with artificial intelligence and the Metaverse with the opportunity for pupils to explore the world of virtual reality with a bespoke workshop.
Also, pupils in Year 8 worked with the school's careers guidance advisor exploring jobs of the future.
Westgate School deputy headteacher, Jane Edwards, said: “Pupils learnt that the most coveted employability skills are flexibility, communication and ingenuity: skills that are emphasised in every lesson, regardless of the subject.
"Even when robots are taking the strain, society will still need entrepreneurs, strong communicators and creative thinkers and there are plenty of these pupils at The Westgate School.”
