Dear Sir: Is Britain being shamed by European Countries ?
Our Government ministers are making statements not backed up with speedy action.This government are expecting Ukrainian refugees to apply for visas to enter our country. Only 50 given by yesterday, increasing to a mere 300, but many of those have then been stopped at the Calais border !
The EU countries are accepting refugees without visas for 3 years, Ireland has already taken 2000 refugees.
The British public watch with dismay the scenes of 2 million Ukrainian people fleeing from the aggressive invasion of their country; heart breaking scenes of destruction of homes and community buildings; of bewildered, crying children. We listen with despair to the repeated appeals from President Zelenskyy and Ukrainian residents pleading for more help, to prevent the destruction of their Country
We the public are desperate to support this country and these citizens, donating essential items, supplies and money. Many have offered emergency accommodation in their homes.
What more can we do ?
Put pressure on our government:
To respond more quickly - email/write to your MP, the PM, Newspapers;
Demand that they open our country Now to Ukrainians;
Stop the Delay and Process people when they are here !
Show the passion and resolve to support fellow humans in crisis, that the British Public have.
