INSPIRING presenters from the world of business, sport, journalism and more have been announced as the speakers for this year's TEDxWinchester.

The second TEDxWinchester will take place on Tuesday, April 5 at the University of Winchester’s West Downs Centre.

The daylong conference, licensed by media organisation TED, is open to all.

This year’s line-ups include broadcasters, business founders, adventurers, campaigners and scientists. Each will share their personal experiences and thoughts around the theme, Ideas Into Action.

TEDxWinchester curator Jan Carlyle said: “We are very excited to reveal our completed line-up. We think the audience will be very inspired by this group of amazing individuals.

"Attendees can also look forward to engaging with incredible creative content at the event. We are looking forward to connecting with the local community and watching them connect with each other. All in the true spirit of TED.”

The most recent speaker announced is professional broadcaster and blogger Kenzie Benali. She will talk about equality in sport.

Dame Esther Rantzen DBE will also be taking to the stage. The journalist, presenter and campaigner will share her thoughts on the importance of knowing how to identify fake news.

Extreme adventurer Jordan Wylie’s will talk about ‘The Power of the Promise’. He will expand on commonly thought concept that ideas are two-a-penny and action isn't. Jordan will dip into his extraordinary experiences in the military, extreme adventures and fundraising.

Samantha Kingston is a tech co-founder and community champion. She will share how she used virtual reality to process her grief after the loss of her mother in 2018.

Earth scientist, presenter and self-confessed ‘Jurassic Girl’ Dr Anjana Khatwa’s will talk on ‘How rocks connect you to time and place’.

Liana Fricker will bring her whirl-wind energy to the stage, Winchester design studio founder Simon Harmer will discuss what he believes is the silver bullet in business and his namesake and amputee swimmer Simon Harmer will shares how he lives his life as a thank you.

Local charity founder Claudia Beard, from I Am Super Capes, will tell her unique story to of living with a condition known as SWAN (Syndrome Without A Name).

TEDxWinchester is being supported by several organisations including the University of Winchester, Workshop, Winchester City Council, Winchester BID, Steadfast Collective Rocket Launch, 7 Stream Media and We Mean This.
