STRONG winds battered Hampshire yesterday (Friday), with public transport services cancelled, roads closed and hundreds of homes experiencing power cuts.
A red weather warning was issued by the Met Office for most of the county as Storm Eunice hit.The warning meant that there was expected to be flying debris “resulting in danger to life”, along with damage to buildings and homes, with roofs blown off and power lines brought down.

Homes in the county experienced power cuts throughout the day and public transport was majorly affected. Stagecoach cancelled all services in Hampshire and South Western Railway stopped all services for most of the day.
