Despite the disappointment of Prince Charles being unable to visit Winchester yesterday, the statue of Licoricia was still unveiled.
The Prince of Wales tested positive for Covid, so had to pull out of the event around 10 minutes before he was due to unveil the statue, outside The Arc on Jewry Street.
However, the responsibility fell to the Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire, Nigel Atkinson, the reveal the statue of the Jewish figure.

The Prince of Wales passed on a message relayed to the reception at the Great Hall. It said: "Ladies and gentlemen, I'm so sorry I'm not able to be with you today. I'm desperately disappointed as I was looking forward to making a historic occasion with you.
