SIR: I am writing to object to the building of two houses next to King John’s House in Romsey (Advertiser, January 20&27).

I feel that they would intrude on an old and historic part of Romsey and very much detract from the beauty of the Tudor house and its garden. The latter has been designed and cared for by a group of dedicated gardeners as a Tudor garden and is a very popular place to visit or just walkthrough. A gem!
