A NEW coffee shop could be brewing in Winchester as signs emerged in a shop window.

Coffee business Honey + Harvey looks to be setting up shop at 18/19 The Square with plans to have outdoor tables and chairs.

Opening in 2011, Honey + Harvey says it is inspired by the passion of bringing great quality, local produce to its customers.

It currently has coffee shops in Woodbridge and Melton in Suffolk, with plans for an Ipswich shop to open next month.
The business has won numerous awards, including being named one of The Independent’s Top 50 Coffee Shops in the UK in 2013.

The building, formerly Pure Home Furnishing, has been empty for several years.

A statement on the Honey + Harvey website says: "Honey + Harvey was established as an independent coffee shop, with the aim of delivering delicious meals and unforgettable brews. From mouth-watering sandwiches to lazy brunches, our Woodbridge café has served some unforgettable meals over the years."

Honey + Harvey has been contacted for a confirmation on a Winchester opening.

Across the street the former Slug and Lettuce building is also preparing for change, making way for Thai restaurant, Giggling Squid, which intends to arrive late spring, early summer 2022. The restaurant will "shortly" recruit around 25 local staff.
