A FERRARI driver has been hit with three points on their licence and a £100 fine after a near miss on the A34 exit to Winnall roundabout in Winchester.
The video, published by Hampshire Roads Policing Unit, shows the Ferrari F430 Spider accelerating before swerving into other lanes. The incident forced other drivers to swerve to avoid a collision, before the Ferrari driver appears to lose control, nearly spinning into a lorry in the middle lane.
The driver was caught after the dash-cam footage was submitted to the Hampshire SNAP initiative aimed at prosecuting road users by using video evidence from members of the public who have witnessed a potentially dangerous incident.
Following the prosecution, the unit tweeted: "This driver has done nothing to dispel the myth of 'the better the car the worse the driver'."
Speaking previously about the scheme, Hampshire Constabulary’s Summary Justice Unit manager, Conor Curtis, said: “Those who drive carelessly or dangerously on our roads will have action taken against them.
“We have already dealt with a range of offences, including driving without due care and attention, failing to comply with a red light and driving on a hard shoulder.
“As we increase the scope of the initiative, we continue to see examples of these incidents.
“Hants SNAP enables us to protect all road users that need our help and to save lives.”
Hampshire Police have been asked for more information about the driver and when the incident occurred.
