Christmas cards have been created which will raise money for the Winchester's cathedral choristers.
A collaboration between artist Lucy McLoughlin, Pilgrims’ School, Winchester Cathedral and Brightful Ltd has resulted in the creation of two unique Christmas cards, which are now for sale at the Christmas market.
All proceeds raised will go towards the Winchester Cathedral Choral Foundation to support both boy and girl choristers, with the hope to undertake a potential tour next year.
Milly and Richard Coope, who are the parents of one of the head choristers and owners of Brightful Ltd, have been working tirelessly with Lucy McLoughlin and a small army of volunteers to create, print and sell these beautiful cards and prints.
Explaining the reason behind the creation of the cards, Richard said: “The Choristers have worked so hard over the last eighteen months, we want them to have something to look forward to - so we are fundraising for the Winchester Cathedral Choral Foundation and hope to undertake a potential tour next year.”
Lucy said: “I really enjoyed painting the choristers in their iconic red cassocks and as a proud Winchester resident I have been very excited to be part of this special collaboration and help raise funds for the choir.
“Come and visit Chalet 99 in the Christmas Market (in the central food court) to buy some beautiful Christmas cards, notelets and prints. You'll be making a meaningful difference in supporting Winchester Choristers.”
