TWO of the UK’s most successful and experienced salon owners have joined forces to create a new hairdressing ‘super group’, with Winchester becoming one of its first locations outside London.
Gina Conway and Robin James Hague have teamed up to operate under the Gina Conway Aveda brand and last month opened a salon in The Square.
The new venture brings together two of hairdressing’s leading entrepreneurs who between them have over 50 years of salon ownership experience.
Their vision is to create the most sustainable salon group which will harness their respective strengths, utilising their vast industry knowledge and expertise to help deliver the ultimate customer experience across its Aveda salons.
The company, which currently employs over 100 individuals, holds sustainability at its heart alongside promoting greater environmental awareness and responsibility – mirroring the two owner’s personal philosophies, as well as Aveda’s brand ethos.
Gina Conway, Aveda’s Trade Sustainability Ambassador in the UK, said: “Winchester is my favourite London escape and I’m so excited to finally have a salon here.
“This incredible salon hosts some of the most passionate and warm team members that I have had the pleasure of working with and I am so glad and grateful to have found them. I am already so proud of the salon and can’t wait to see it thrive in this beautiful city.”
She continued: “Having built my business from the ground up for the last 20 years on my own, I know how hard it can be and I have had to learn most things the hard way. Through this partnership with Robin, we both get to take advantage of our experience in business and to share best practices for the ultimate business. We both get to do exactly what we love for the business as our passions and strengths complement each other.”
Robin Hague, founder of Robin James Salons and Spas, added: “Gina and I have been friends with Tony Mawson who owned the salon for many years and are very happy to carry on the tradition of service and style in the heart Winchester under the Gina Conway Salon Group.”
