A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after another man was found with stab wounds in Winchester.
Heavy police presence, including at least one armed officer, was spotted in Andover Road outside The Light of Bengal Restaurant this morning.
Hampshire Constabulary has now confirmed that a 37-year-old man was located with stab wounds at an address.
A 49-year-old man from Winchester has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody at this time.
The victim has been taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are described as serious.
Officers attended the area at 7.12am following reports of a serious assault.
Scene guards are still in place to preserve evidence, and officers will be in the area conducting enquiries.
Andover Road was also closed for a short while. An ambulance and a police car were also spotted parked in Stockbridge Road, not far from the crossroads.
