A FORMER Winchester MP whose battle with his sexuality led to a public downfall says he is "living his second life".
The Mirror revealed that Mark Oaten, 57, has married the man he met through dating app Tinder six years ago.
He represented Winchester between 1997 and 2010, but in 2006 was outed over a six-month liaison with a male sex worker – despite being married with two children.
Now, 15 years later, he describes himself and Belinda as “the best divorced couple that we know”.
Both of his daughters – now in their 20s – spoke at his wedding and have welcomed husband Chris, 39, as part of their “dysfunctional family”.
Speaking to the Mirror, Mr Oaten, now living in Surrey said: "I’d had flings with other guys, and they didn’t have the same personality as Chris at all. They were people that wanted to party.
“I needed somebody who’d embrace my children and deal with what we now describe as our dysfunctional family."
He added: "My mum’s taken to Chris too. She’d found it hard with the horrible headlines, so she’s just glad I’ve come out of it the other side and found somebody like Chris."
