TRAIN services could be cancelled and revised all day due to Covid-19 related absences at South Western Railway.
The railway franchise, which operates services across Dorset, the New Forest and up to London, has warned that disruption is expected throughout Tuesday, August 8.
A South Western Railway spokesperson said: "Due to a shortage of train crew, train services running across the whole South Western Railway network may be cancelled or revised. Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
"We have been informed that numerous colleagues have been requested by the NHS to self-isolate. Due to these colleagues isolating, some services have been cancelled or revised today.
"If further colleagues are required to isolate when ‘pinged’ , this may also lead to further short-notice changes to trains.
"We are actively seeking extra resources to be available to mitigate this risk and are still frequently cleaning our trains and stations more than ever before . However, you are encouraged to travel earlier than planned to ensure that you can complete your journey. Please check your journey before you travel.
"For further information or onward travel advice please speak to a member of staff or use a station help point."
