FOR the 100th day no Covid deaths have been reported in the Winchester district.
Some 183 people have died since March 2020 within 28 days of being diagnosed with Covid-19, but none since March 3.
In the Hampshire Hospitals area that includes the hospitals in Winchester, Basingstoke and Andover there have been no reported deaths for 48 days and only four Covid patients, with three in Basingstoke and one at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital.
Across the district there are three place with more than two cases in the last seven days: Whiteley, Knowle and Wickham which has seen four cases, down one in the seven days to June 4, the most recent day for which figures are available. It has a rolling case rate of 34.2 cases per 100,000 people.
Oliver's Battery and Hursley has three cases, up one, for a rolling 36.7 and Denmead and Southwick, four, up two for a rolling 39.0.
Winchester district as a whole has rolling rate of 16.8 per 100,000, below the national average.
But numbers are still edging up: 21 cases were reported in the week to June 4 yesterday, up nine, week on week, the highest daily rise since April 26. Some 5,005 cases have been reported in Winchester district since the start of the pandemic.
No Winchester schools are affected and only 14 in Hampshire with eight of them in the north-east of the county.
On June 5 there were 94 better performing local authority areas out of 315 in the UK. The previous week Winchester was 13th.
On vaccinations, data shows that a total of 82,157 people have had their first dose in Winchester district and 59,293 have had both, as of yesterday. First doses totalled 170; but 1,222 people had their second.
