A VILLAGE that is often subject to illegal traveller encampments is stepping up its prevention methods.

Colden Common Parish Council is seeking quotations for ground works at the Recreation Ground, Main Road.

This will make it difficult for vehicles to enter the premises.

A spokesperson said: "If you are a grounds contractor or landscaping company and are interested in tendering a quotation for these works please submit a written quote by Friday June 11 to clerk@coldencommon-pc.gov.uk."

The specification of works required is on the council's website.
