MYSTERY surrounds the death of a Winchester woman.
Police located Margaret Macfarlane, 87, at her St Clement Street cottage on August 24 2020.
An inquest heard that officers were responding to the call of someone concerned for the welfare of the deceased.
The cause of death is currently unascertained.
Area coroner Rosamund Rhodes-Kemp has adjourned proceedings, with a full inquest to be heard at Winchester Coroner's Court on November 29.
