THE cost of Winchester University's Greta Thunberg statue has been revealed.
Christine Charlesworth is the person behind this sculpture of the Swedish activist, who propelled into the national media when she began the school climate strikes 2018.
After a year of work, it is ready to be unveiled at the uni on March 30.
But how much did it cost?
A spokesperson has confirmed that the uni paid £23,760.
"The statue of Greta Thunberg was commissioned in 2019 and funded by the University as part of the West Downs Centre development," they said.
"The statue cost £23,760, within the overall £50m budget for the West Downs Centre."
Chronicle readers have heavily criticised the statue since the plans were unveiled.
Christine, of Milford, Surrey, believes this is the first full-size sculpture of the activist.
The sculpture is called Make A Difference.
