A LORRY driver has appeared in court for causing death by dangerous driving on a Hampshire road.
Dean John Moffat, 48, drove his MAN lorry into a parked Toyota Corolla car by the side of the southbound A34 at Bullington Cross, north of Winchester, at around 8.10pm on November 11 2019.
Ric Mboma, 60, was killed in the crash and two teenage children, Witley and Heaven Mboma, were seriously injured. Mr Mboma died at the scene.
Moffat appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court and indicated he would plead guilty to causing death by dangerous driving, two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
He also indicated a guilty plea for perverting the course of justice by deleting a SkyBet and Bet365 apps from his mobile phone.
Magistrates adjourned the case and transferred it to Winchester Crown Court on March 31.
Moffat, of Robson Avenue, Peterlee, County Durham, was released on unconditional bail.
After the crash in 2019 the Mboma family, from Feltham, west London, issued a statement: "Ric Mboma was a loving and caring husband, and wherever a beautiful soul has been there is a trail of beautiful memories."
