THE wedding ring of a woman who lost it after wearing it for 60 years has been returned.
PCSO Sarah McCulloch from the Winchester Greater neighbourhood team has managed to reunite the band with a Bishop's Waltham resident.
It was lost at the end of December after it slipped off her finger.
A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said: "As you can imagine this has caused a great deal of distress.
"It was a slightly emotional moment when returning the ring today for PCSO McCulloch and the lovely resident.
"We just want to say a big thank you to the vigilant finder, who has remained anonymous. Sometimes the power of social media really does work in a positive manner."
