ANOTHER Winchester High Street shop has closed.
Smiggle, which sells children's stationery, toys and games, has been shut since the lockdown and has now been cleared of stock.
The company has been contacted for comment but has not yet replied.
It is the latest in a series of closures from businesses unable to carry on amid the varying lockdowns since last March.
Shops to close in Winchester city centre include Laura Ashley, Jigsaw and the West Cornwall Pasty Company. Debenhams looks set to follow.
Footfall in Winchester is however doing better than the national average. according to Springboard, the national data portal, the city has retained 21 per cent more footfall than similar places.
The impact of the lockdown in November led to a 33 per cent drop in footfall, Cllr Paula Ferguson, cabinet member for local economy, told full Council.
