TWO catapults and dozens of metal ball bearings have been seized by police following reports of hare coursing.
Yesterday, officers stopped a vehicle in West Meon following reports of hare coursing in the area.
The occupants of the vehicle were detained for search under the Poaching Prevention Act.
Police seized two catapults and ball bearings.
The driver was also reported for no road tax (VEL).
Illegal coursing becomes more common in the autumn once the harvest is gathered and the hares lose their protective cover on the open ground.
