THE Hampshire Chronicle will be covering the General Election count tomorrow morning for the constituencies of Winchester and Chandler's Ford and Meon Valley.
Once the polls close at 10pm this evening the votes will be taken to the counting centre at the River Park Leisure Centre in Winchester where counting will begin once the votes have been verified. The count itself is expected to start at 1am with the predicted result time of around 4am, although Winchester is usually completed and announced later..
A Chronicle reporter will be at the count giving regular updates and the result via hampshirechronicle.co.uk, Twitter and Facebook.
The Conservatives are defending both seats, with Steve Brine holding Winchester with a majority in 2017 of 9,999. Meon Valley was won by George Hollingbery in 2017 with a majority of 25,692. Mr Hollingbery announced he was not standing and was replaced as candidate by Flick Drummond, former MP and Winchester city councillor.
A YouGov opinion poll earlier this week for Winchester had the Lib Dems on 47 per cent with the Conservatives on 46, the first poll to have Mr Brine trailling.
