THE fifth Worthys Festival has been deemed the best to date by organisers.
Designed to bring the community together, the biennial event returned from September 14 to September 22, with a fireworks display bringing proceedings to a close.
The festival provides a variety of free activities and live music for all ages.
Jane Rutter, chair of the organising team, said: "The 2019 festival has been the most successful yet.
"It has been pleasing to see people like the new activities like the open day and the duck race at St Swithun's church.
"We had fantastic support from the community and everyone who came had a great time.
"We could not put the festival on every year, but with it being every two years it gives people something to really look forward to and is part of what makes the event unique.
"As a team we have to put a lot of work in and I have to thank all the sponsors."
A wash-up meeting has been organised for October 2 at 8pm in Worthies Sports and Social Club in Loader Close/Lovedon Lane.
Residents are invited to share their views on this year's festival and give suggestions of what they would like to see in the event when it returns in 2021.
