The Big Lottery Fund has awarded over £200,000 to three projects to improve children's play facilities in the Test Valley.
One project will see a new Community Play Co-ordinator appointed to set up play activities in parks and open spaces, supervised by volunteers, thanks to a £60,000 grant, spread over three years, made to Test Valley Community Services.
The new co-ordinator will also help to tackle issues of bullying and anti-social behaviour.
At the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, a grant of £61,000 will help pay for a network of outdoor play features for children, which will be designed to include the needs of children with profound disabilities.
The rest of the cash will fund a new junior play space to be created in Andover's Phoenix Park.
Test Valley Borough Council's Leisure Portfolio Holder, Councillor Caroline Nokes says: "These projects were identified in our Children's Play Strategy. From our research last summer we identified some very important points that needed to be tackled and while these projects won't address all of them they really are an excellent start!"
