DRIVERS in Stanmore and St Cross could face disruption for up to four months as gas main replacements begin in Lower Stanmore Lane and Cripstead Lane later this month.
The work, which is being carried out by Winchester City Council as agents for the county council, will start on Thursday, July 19, and is expected to take no longer than six weeks, although preparations have been made for the roads to be closed for up to four months.
Lower Stanmore Lane will be closed between the junctions with Christchurch Road and St Cross Road. Barnes Close and Christchurch Road will be used as a diversion to and from St Cross Road.
Cripstead Lane will also be closed between its junction with St Cross Road and St Faiths Road.
