ROMSEY Carnival programmes go on sale in the town tomorrow (Saturday) and they include a new fundraising event this year.
From 10am, carnival bosses will be in the Cornmarket promoting the programme - which cost £1 each. The programme lists full details of the all the events during the Summer Carnival Week, July 22-28. There is a £50 prize for the holder of the lucky programme.
A wheelbarrow and barrel race in being introduced into the carnival week this year and it will be held on Tuesday, July 24.
A carnival spokesperson said: " Teams of four will be required to undertake a course around a set course with obstacles to tackle on route. The winner will be the team that completes the course in the fastest time."
To mark Romsey's charter year, the carnival organisers have decided to introduce a Romsey through the Ages' theme to two of the four classes in the summer parade. These will be motorised and pedestrian categories.
