Hampshire Hogs (295-6) beat Mavericks (179ao).
There was a special milestone for Chris Bazalgette who achieved 1300 wickets in his career for the Hampshire Hogs on Sunday.
Inserted on a damp pitch the Hogs scored 295 for six in 193 minutes mainly due to Jack Tyrwhitt-Drake who scored 122 in 118 minutes with thirteen 4s and one 6 and Chris Pratt who made 83 not out. They were well supported by Skipper Mark Dunn (32) and Nick Smith (22).
The Mavericks' innings started briskly, aided by four dropped catches as both Mark Goodeve-Docker and Henry Marks both were moving the ball off the seam. The breakthrough was achieved by the century-maker, who, fielding at cover, swooped to his right and hit one stump on the run. Spry was bowled for a duck by Mark G-Docker and at tea the Mavericks were 44 for 2.
Dick Aldridge and Chris Bazalgette took over following the interval and first Aldridge bowled Tim Wade (42) and in his next over bowled Hanson (1), hitting the leg stump on both occasions. The Gette first had Cox caught for 18 and next over Villers (2), both caught at Mid-on by Mark Goodeve-Docker. This brought Christopher Bazalgette to the milestone of 1300 wickets for the club.
Ollie Kelly replaced Aldridge and Mark Goodeve-Docker finished off the innings, Toby Harris, the Mavericks skipper and also a Hog, batted well for his 52, before he was last out with nine balls to spare, caught by Mark Dunn.
