SIR - I was shocked to read about the threats to the future of the Tower Arts Centre (Chronicle, June 7).
I regularly attend the (usually sold out) shows at the Tower.
Both of my children enjoy the many classes and workshops that they hold for the local children.
Having lived in many parts of the UK, I can confidently say that this place is exceptional, a real gem! The quality of the performances is almost always excellent and it is extremely well managed.
It is a fantastic, vibrant facility that is used regularly by the community. I am at a total loss as to why anyone would contemplate its closure.
I can only think that this is a cynical move to help justify the £7m investment in the Discovery Centre!
