MOTORISTS in Bishop's Waltham are likely to face delays on Wednesday.
The B2177 Winchester Road through the village from the Ashton Road junction to Station roundabout will be resurfaced.
Hampshire County Council will be renewing around one mile of road surface to improve the texture, reduce skidding and help prolong the carriageway.
Portsmouth Water will also be replacing 100 metres of water main at the Station roundabout end of Winchester Road at a date yet to be announced.
Cllr Mel Kendal, cabinet member for transport, said: "While the county council is aware of the annoyance caused to the public when roads are dug up soon after resurfacing works, we try to avoid this problem wherever possible. However, on this occasion, the Portsmouth Water works affect a very small area of the overall road surface that is being dressed, less than one per cent.
"The benefits gained in undertaking the surface dressing easily outweighs the minimal inconvenience of allowing the water company to excavate a short section of surfacing after implementation of the surface dressing works."
