HAMPSHIRE LEAGUE - County Division 1.

Flamingo (132-4) beat Eastleigh & Otterbourne (127-8).

Eastleigh & Otterbourne were the opponents at the Holt on Saturday, with both teams currently languishing in the bottom half of the County Division 1 table.

The visitors won the toss and elected to bat on a slow wicket. Flamingo bowled a tight line and length as the visitors found scoring difficult throughout the innings eventually totalling 127 for 8 off of their allotted overs with Dave Wright (3-26) and his son Steve (3-20) the pick of the bowlers.

Mike Foster (10) opened the batting alongside Ian Heath who top scored for the hosts with a mature, patient 52. Further runs came via the in-form Paul Bachelor (32) helping to move Flamingo closer to their target. Flamingo left the winning hit to the second ball of the last over - a towering six from Sam Strange.

Farley (186) lost to Flamingo 2s (187-8) Flamingo 2nds made it a great weekend for the club with a hard fought victory at Farley gaining there 1st win of the season. Farley were dismissed for 187 (Geoff Ramsey 38) with Mark Barber (4-41) and Rob Downing (3-7) the pick of the bowlers with the latter also taking an outstanding catch.

Flamingo's reply started poorly, slumping to 48-5. Ash Ames then joined his uncle (Adi Heath) at the crease, bringing the score up to 120 with Ames making 27. Rob Downing (33no) joined Heath who was next out for a match winning run-a-ball 77 with the total on 166.

Downing and Barber saw the visitors home with an over to spare. With Ramsey taking 5 for 55 for the hosts.
