IT opens with the message “you are not forgotten” and hopes to rouse missing people to reunite with their relatives and support families left behind.
A busy mother-of-three from Kings Worthy has penned the powerful tune Never Give up Faith in support of charity Missing People.
Ginny Walker, 42, said the idea came to her whilst putting her youngest to bed and she instantly knew she had to help.
“I’ve never been in that situation, thank God, but I just want to make a difference,” she said.
“If somebody heard it and they were missing or thinking about it and then they didn’t or they decided to phone home, whether it’s an adult or child, and it helped them by listening to it, I would be thrilled to pieces.”
The charity helps runaways, missing people, their families and friends with research and support.
The song was taken on by singer-songwriter Katy Shotter (above) and then by the charity, which played it at its Miles for Missing People event last summer.
It was released in May and Ginny said around 90 per cent of the 79p it costs goes to the charity.
The hopeful lyrics, including “we will find you if it takes all our lives” and “you live in our hearts every single day”, came alive with Katy’s interpretation of the tune, she said.
“I was amazed and thrilled to have Katy on board, particularly as I am an unknown and she threw herself in, adding her inimitable style and beautiful vocal delivery.
"I hope that those who hear it will buy it and help to support this remarkable charity and its work to help families and individuals who find themselves in this situation.”
