WINCHESTER MP Steve Brine has taken up a new role within government following the Prime Minister’s reshuffle.
The Winchester and Chandler’s Ford MP was previously Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) to Mike Penning, within the Department of Work & Pensions, and now follows him to the Home Office and Ministry of Justice.
Mr Brine said: “This is an exciting move for me, which takes me into the heart of Theresa May’s Home Office team.
“Mike is the new Minister for Policing and is also at the centre of the Ministry of Justice under Chris Grayling, as this is actually a cross-departmental brief. I hope my experience on the Justice Select Committee these past three years will be of use in this new role which I am hugely looking forward to getting stuck into when Parliament returns in September.”
