A WINCHESTER military museum is staging an exhibition in the run-up to the anniversary of World War One.
The Royal Green Jackets Museum at Peninsula Barracks is asking for local people to bring in artefacts from the Great war, 1914-18.
Martin Barry, exhibition designer, and Christine Pullen, museum curator, will be available this Saturday (November 9) between 10am-2pm, at the museum.
They are interested in seeing postcards, photographs, letters, diaries and Princess Mary’s gift tin (box) which was distributed to soldiers.
The museum is hosting a temporary exhibition by Martin entitled Remembered Faces, which is based on a series of First World War photographs and postcards.
The exhibition reveals the lives of those pictured through letters and diaries of the period. In conjunction with the temporary exhibition, Martin and Christine like to hear any stories you may like to share surrounding the objects mentioned.
The exhibition will run for two weeks from today to Thursday November 21.
