A WINCHESTER care home will be running a series of events to promote wellbeing for the elderly this winter.
Bereweeke Court Nursing Home, on Bereweeke Road, Weeke, will be taking part in the Winter Wellness Week from November 11-17 to help keep older people warm this winter.
Over seven care homes across the county, run by Bupa, will take part in the campaign collaborating with the older people’s charity, Royal Voluntary Service.
There will be a variety of activities and entertainment, including a performance from a 1940s singer and afternoon tea as well as easy recipe booklets and leaflets with advice on how to stay warm this winter.
Siobhan Drane, Bupa care services community and partnerships manager, said: “We’re eager to do what we can to help older people who may struggle during the colder months. As well as giving practical information and advice on keeping physically well, we feel it’s equally important to improve the feel-good factor amongst elderly community communities through social events and entertainment.”
