REPORTS of damage flooded in thick and fast last night (October 31) when a Hallowe’en party in Winchester was cancelled.
Residents of Chilbolton Avenue and the surrounding areas reported damage to cars and gardens after an event on Facebook advertising the party went ‘viral’.
It resulted in scores of teenagers being turned away from a house, from a party believed to have been arranged by a pupil at Kings’ School.
Police were called to the area at 6.30pm to move the children.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police attended to disperse the group from the area which grew in size and numbered around 100 at one point. The group left the area and all was quiet by 8.30pm.”
A local resident said: “I live nearby and I’m pretty disgusted this is allowed to happen. I have never seen anything like this in Winchester to be honest and I think it’s the sort of thing people should be named and shamed for.
“It’s not on that some silly little girl can get away with this sort of behaviour and I think parents should deal with it better. What a waste of police time.”
