A WINCHESTER family was relieved after a tree blown over by last night's storm narrowly missed their house.
Laurence Poultney said he heard an 'almighty crash' at around 5.30am on Monday when the tree fell into his garden in Cheriton Road.
But the damage appears to be limited to his front gate as the tree missed the house by metres.
Cheriton Road is currently blocked.
The storm caused numerous trees to crash down across the district disputing motorists.
