CHILDREN across Winchester are invited to the Winnall Moors this half term with a story booklet by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust.
The Adventure of Winnall Moors takes children on a trail through the nature reserve as characters, such as the otter and the giant of Winnall, recall tales of the kingfisher’s palace and the toad’s army.
The series of booklets can be collected from the Tourist Information Centre in Winchester or from the City Mill for a small donation to cover the cost of printing. A set of finger puppets can be hired along with the booklet to help bring the characters to life.
The Trust has also launched the Winnall Moors Discover Packs which contain binoculars, spotter guides and magnifying lenses. The packs can be borrowed from either the Mill or the Centre for a returnable deposit.
