WINCHESTER fireman Tim James is no stranger to hairy situations.
So he took it in his stride on Monday when Gemma Veazey invited him to her barber shop, Barnett’s.
He was there to promote an event which will see an entire day’s takings donated to The Fire Fighters Charity.
“The charity is so important because it supports serving and retired fire service personnel in times of hardship. If they pick up an injury for example, they can use the organisations rehabilitation centres,” he said.
Gemma said a customer at the shop on Jewry Street gave her the idea.
“He used to be a fireman so he told me about the charity.
“Since we put the poster up we’ve had a chap stop by who said he used to be a fireman and was injured and the charity helped him,” she said.
Barnett’s is normally closed on Sundays, but will open specially on October 27 from 10am.
