RENOWNED children’s authors will visit the Winchester Discovery Centre this half term as part of the Wessex Children’s Book Festival.

The festival begins with a weekend of storytelling on Saturday (October 26) which will include children’s favourites Spot the Dog and the Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Sunday will see CBeebies’s presenter Cerrie Burnell perform her own Magical Playroom show for children aged three-six.

During the week, highlights include creator of the bestselling Artemis Fowl series, Eoin Colfer, talking about the first of his new WARP series, while the Horrible Science presenter, Nick Arnold, returns with a brand new show called House of Horrors on Monday.

Mark Walden introduces his latest H.I.V.E series on Tuesday and will be joined by Sir Tony Robinson who will talk about the latest in his Weird World of Wonders book series.

Red House Book Prize winner, Andrew Weale, shows audiences how to make Halloween sound effects with his book Spooky, Spooky House.
